Here you will find information about educational and entertaining events and competitions that meet curriculum expectations. Your students can win a cash prize and you can receive a plaque for your school.

Motivate, engage students AND meet curriculum expectations.

Literacy Award Financial Reality Check Award
Students will research the cost of a post-secondary program and project their resources and expenses in the first year of the program. They wil prepare two budgets (i) living at home and (ii) away from home, analyze their findings and identify strategies to cover expenses or use surplus funds. This competition is open to students in grades 11 and 12. This award is offered in partnership with the Ontario School Counsellors'  Association.

Saving and Investment Challenge

Teach your grade 9/10 students effective saving and investment and practices. Students will learn about the services, bank accounts available and investment products available from financial institutions. This competition is offered in partnership with the Ontario Business Educators Association.


Cash prizes
1st place: $500
2nd place: $300
3rd place: $200

Financial Fitness Challenge Financial Fitness Challenge

The Financial Fitness challenge is an education program which aims to expand the financial knowledge of Canadian students aged 15 to 21. The challenge is implemented by the Canadian Securities Administrators.

Have students take the challenge to acquire saving and investment skills so they can reach financial freedom! If their score is in the top 60% of their province or territory, they could win a notebook computer! And if they are in the top 60% nationally, they could win a cash prize!
