The economic downturn changed retirement plans for many Canadians. A 2009 Ipsos Reid survey of 1,200 Canadians (518 between the ages of 50 and 69) found:
- One in five surveyed don’t expect their retired lifestyle will be as comfortable as they had thought
- Nearly half of those who plan to retire after age 65 worry they will not have saved enough.
