Check Your Statement

Use this checklist to make sure you've reviewed your statement thoroughly. Check off each step as you do it.

Tip

Always keep your old statements in case you ever need these records for reference.

1  Your name and address, account number and adviser information is correct.
2  The opening balance (if there is one) matches the closing balance on your last statement.
3  Any new cash deposits and contributions during the statement period were properly credited.
4  The list of what you bought and sold matches your confirmation slips and records.
5  Any automatic withdrawals were processed on the correct business day.
6  In RRSP accounts, the beneficiary information is correct.
